New Tron:Uprising trailer…

Check out this kick ass new trailer for Disney XD’s Tron: Uprising. The series will premiere next month with a voice cast that includes Paul Reubens, Nate Corddry, Mandy Moore, Reginald Vel Johnson and Bruce Boxleitner as “Tron”. Oh, and Elijah Wood plays the main character, leader of a revolution inside The Grid, named “Beck”…

Motorcity!

Titmouse is nearly set to roll-out their latest production model –C. The team has set a new bar for Flash character animation. While Titmouse is employing “re-use” techniques, you’d never know it, as the animation so full and fluid. There’s certainly a lot of drawing mileage going into each and every shot, and the facial acting is really elaborate and engaging. Of course, Flash isn’t the only tool being employed – the Titmouse team is using After Effects, Maya and Photoshop as well. Here’s a few shots from the show…

The Titmouse crew went into overdrive on the tech side too, creating proprietary Flash plug-ins and scripts to lubricate the production pipeline. For instance, here’s the ‘Facinator’ plug-in that allows an animator to quickly select a head position from a wide array of angles, somewhat mimicking a CG rig. The plug-in is displayed around the 1-minute mark:

Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice

ABC’s 2009 holiday special Prep & Landing performed well for the network, notching a 5.8 rating, and then at awards time, the half-hour piece snagged an Annie award and a number of Emmys. So it should come as no surprise that ABC is rolling out a sequel, titled Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice. On December 5th, ABC brings back Wayne and Lanny, who are tasked with yet again saving Christmas. Here’s a trailer for the film Kevin Deters wrote and directed…

Unbirthday Mad Tea Party!

Walt Disney often filmed actors as models for his animated features. What’s surprising is that the audio from this crude footage for “Alice in Wonderland” is the actual audio used in the film. When Ed Wynn was brought back in to the recording studio to re-do his lines, the reading was not as good as the reference tests, so the test audio was used for the film…
