The Woods!

Wow, I’m pretty gutted this didn’t turn into a show but Max Winston’s animation test for a Nickelodeon show is now on display. The series, which sadly isn’t moving forward, is titled The Woods. I want to go to there!

Mighty B Beat Boards…

This is pretty freakin’ awesome, Bill Wray art director and background painter on the hilarious Nickelodeon show ‘The Mighty B’, has posted ‘beat boards’ from an episode and is a really good example of the planning involved in producing a TV cartoon. And in his words “are sketches for the stroyboard guy to help them with gags, posing, direction elements and in my case some art direction”. CHECK THEM OUT…

ADVENTURE TIME!!!

If you follow cartoons like we do you’ll be excited as all heck for the debut of this new Cartoon Network show! Created by the hilarious Pen Ward, it was originally made for the Nickelodeon shorts programme, Random Cartoons, and after it’s pilot (see below) got a trillion views on the net it has finally found it’s home on CN! Lot’s of people all around the world are trying to make “the next big thing” in cartoons, Spongebob Squarepants and The Powerpuff Girls were probably the last big success’ globally and this show feels so completely different and original that one can’t help but wonder if it is “the next big thing”!! In my opinion it certainly deserves to be, Gosh only knows when it’ll hit our screens down here in New Zealand, but that’s why Gosh invented the internet… isn’t it?! But in the mean time enjoy the pilot and the official blog is constantly updated with heaps of sweet production artwork…

Here’s a sweet clip of the creator of the show, Pen Ward, answering questions from fans of the show…

And just for good measure… I was asked to contribute a piece of AT fan art by the guys at Cartoon Network for an up and coming tribute book…

I'M READY….

This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in ages, Lineboil have posted the awesome new stop-motion intro for the 10th anniversary Spongebob special!

It’s made by the awesome guys at Screen Novelties (they also made all the awesome stop-motion animation in Chowder)
